Why Reishi

Four thousand years ago, the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing — the oldest surviving work in Chinese herbal medicine — placed a single mushroom at the top of its botanical register. Emperors kept it. What it actually is.
Reishi is a woody mushroom — shellac-red on top, layered underneath, the kind you would find on a fallen tropical hardwood. It is not eaten like a button mushroom; it is far too tough. Traditionally it is dried, ground into powder, and taken slowly — a small cup of Reishi tea in the evening, a morning capsule, a drop of extract added to food. Never flashy. Never instant. Always part of a rhythm.
